Quick transfer from airport to Central Station - no impediments; little walking Likes - The White Rabbit Gallery, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Botanic Gardens, Wendy Whitely's Garden, eating in and around Surry Hills, walking, the purposeful movement of pedestrians and transport - from trains to ferries to taxis.
Very poor transport options for this main part of the city, direct access by train would be a great advantage and this has been removed by the New South Wales government, even when the new system is built this will mean changing off and onto different modes which is the worst thing any city needs.
Lovely warm friendly farming town in the heart of the rich farming country of Northern New South Wales slopes and plains.
Loved too much to mention, but, thoroughly enjoyed the Botanic Gardens, visit to The New South Wales Parliament, Harbour Bridge walk and shows.
A vibrant 'world' city with great diversity of attractions and open spaces. Undergoing much development (disruption) with a new light-railway scheme in the centre of town. The city OPAL TRAVEL CARD scheme is a 'must' for easy access on bus transport and trains. The New South Wales ART GALLERY is a 'must see venue', as is the Contempory Art Gallery near The ROCKS area with its weekend market, is always worth a visit. The LORD NELSON pub (in the Rocks area) is the venue for a quality pint of 'real ale' plus great food.
Campbelltown-Camden is a pleasant little city with a great town feel, that has a multi-faceted personality; a unique blend of modern and olden day charm. They have most major retail outlets and dining establishments, something for everyone. We had a sit down meal with friends at Rashays and breakfasted at La Cream in Picton. If you’re driving, your smartphone maps app will get you in and around town, easy. Public transport is also available but you will want to allocate more time to transfer and switch between points. Campbelltown-Camden offers a variety of local festivals almost year round. There are also several rural activities & points of interest all well under an hour’s drive from the CBD. Sydney’s largest botanical venue is also located here, between Campbelltown and Camden, which can boast of city and rural views from the sundial lookout on Mount Annan hill. And if you are on a road trip, Campbelltown-Camden is a good stop over/sleep over on the way to Canberra, Melbourne, and inland New South Wales. It is also a good hour to the ocean, northward to Bondi, Cronulla & Manly and southward to Stanwell Tops, Wollongong, and Kiama. Spring flower shows are also just a drive away south to Bowral, Mittagong, & Goulburn, where Pamela Travers, author of “Mary Poppins” lived for several years before returning to England. If you are in for a laidback getaway, Campbelltown-Camden are definitely places to consider.
I don’t like City centres that are so busy so I went outside of Sydney. Local people were helpful and friendly. Getting off the beaten path and renting a car was well worthwhile. Newcastle New South Wales (NSW) had beautiful beaches and Hunter valley wine region was better than I imagined. Aussie summer (dec-April) gets increasingly hotter. West side of island has far bigger waves than east side w quieter beaches. Tasmania is quite beautiful. Loads of vacant beaches -just be prepared for temperature to be 5degrees cooler than Melbourne region. If you rent a car and drive “like a tourist”, pull over!rather than impede the locals. Especially on the beautiful windy roads of Cradle Mountain TAS. Watch for wildlife. MONA museum is unique and a must see. Free entry, $22 ferry ride from Glebe waterfront Tasmania. Being in w kangaroos and seeing Tassie devils up close at Bonarong was amazing, rocky Bay Of Fires beautiful for hiking. Everything is expensive but it makes sense as wages are higher too. Just be prepared.
This was a one night stay on our trip from Adelaide to New South Wales, so did not get to look around the area. I would highly recommend the Billabong Restaurant attached to our motel, even if you are not staying here.
Taree is a country town in New South Wales which is on the the train line between Brisbane and Sydney. It is a pretty town with lots of amenities and a good variety of shops, clubs etc. I was there only a short while but from the railway staff, the taxi drivers, staff at the Leagues Club to the Motel staff and even the checkout operator at Target I have never met such friendly, outgoing and helpful people.
Byron Bay is a vibrant little town with live music everywhere every night, from buskers, restaurants and the hotels, the traffic around the town centre gets a bit heavy, but there are no traffic lights and the traffic seems to flow quite well. If you enjoy a hipster/ hippy atmosphere, I would definitely recommend a visit to Byron Bay, the food outlets are great and the shopping isn’t to bad either. It quite a central location, easy going for day trips through the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales.
Blackheath
A good memory my vacation at Blackheath, Blue Mountain, New South Wales Australia. Highly Recommeded
The whole stay was exceptional. We particularly liked the buffet breakfast.
Cabins were clean and lots of facilities for families and kids.
The room was so spacious and comfortable. Loved that the hotel is located in a calm and serene estate, with Kangaroos roaming around. We had a very relaxing stay. The Buffet Breakfast was also really nice.
The staff were super friendly and gave us some great tips and recommendations on wineries to visit. The room exceeded expectations, particularly with how little we paid for it! A lovely fireplace that was all ready to go when we checked in. Great spot for a winter weekend in the Hunter Valley!
The well-restored late 19th century style and ambiance, comfortable sitting rooms, good bathroom
The location was perfect with a nice walk to the beach, infinity pool, sauna and well equipped units.
Delicious dinner & breakfast
Easy access to the room we had quite all round very good
I love staying here. Kids are sorted. Facilities are clean, I find it such a stress relief whilst we had to visit hospital
Stunning Deco style venue Beautiful location Friendly and helpful staff
What a beautiful setting with so much to do. Bike riding, canoeing, walks. We had a lovely, new 2 bedroom chalet. Staff were so helpful with hiring mountain bikes and explaining best places to explore. It was a nice treat to have breakfast at Cuisine Restaurant each morning.
We stayed In a seabreeze spa villa in front of what I can only explain as a picture perfect view. The accommodation was exactly like the virtual tours, online check in and staff were super easy to deal with. Considering these difficult times they were strict yet fair which is commendable considering how busy they get. I was shocked with the level of cleanliness it was amazing, I even witnessed maintenance workers wiping down railings at 7.30am. The beach was beautiful, like a dream. Honestly I can go on and on we did not want to leave.
The cottage aesthetic is gorgeous. The surrounds are magic.
The suite is clean, large with all amenities and luxury items to make long stay more comfortable.
Enjoyed the easy availability of the shuttle bus between the two sites
Ive never had such an experience like this, from the views, to the hammocks, the bush walks, fire place the bedroom & Bathroom ✨ I felt so refreshed after leaving here even though it wasn't long enough after 2 days Definitely a 10/10 for us. Well be back again soon we loved it that much.
The location is really great!Hotel is beautiful and like a garden. Staff is friendly and nice
